Monday will be relatively calm, but weather systems moving into the Lexington area are setting up for snow Tuesday afternoon and evening with accumulations of an inch or two.
The more significant event is a rain system that will drop up to six inches of rain over Fayette County and central Kentucky through Sunday and possibly beyond. The area has already experienced significant rain for the first part of February. The ground is saturated and rivers and streams are full. Flooding of low-lying areas, creeks and streams will be a possibility.
Stay weather aware this week. Don’t drive through flood waters. Remember: Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
