Just when you think this round of severe winter weather is over, Mother Nature throws what hopefully will be one last arctic blast at the Bluegrass.
Current temperatures are in the teens and on the way down to the single digits or below zero. If the winds pick up, expect wind chills tomorrow morning in the negative numbers: Up to -30. Right now, it looks like daytime temperatures won’t get above freezing until Saturday, when the highs will be in the 40’s. Here’s more on next week’s forecast.
But let’s get through tonight first.
You should take the usual precautions this afternoon and tonight if you have pipes that are prone to freezing.
Here’s a summary of that information
If you have to go out, go as soon as possible to avoid being out tonight. If you have elderly neighbors, now would be a good time to check and make sure that they’re ok.
If you have pets that normally stay outdoors, bring them in tonight.
Remember, just 15 days until Spring officially starts.
