An Arctic front will bring the coldest air of the season to the region beginning Wednesday. After a mild December, this Arctic blast will be some of the coldest air to affect the area since last January. Now is the time to make precautions for the cold.

Falling temperatures through the day. Early morning readings in the 20s, lower teens by late afternoon. Strong northwest winds 20 to 30 mph. Wind chills dropping below 0 by afternoon
Wednesday Night / Thursday Morning
Low temperatures around 0. Locations across southern Indiana may drop below 0.
Wind chills as low as -5 to -15
Prepare for the cold!
Take precautions to keep water pipes from freezing
Make sure you have heat sources prepared
Make arrangements for outdoor pets/animals
Check on friends/family – especially those with limited heat sources
Dress properly – wear plenty of layers
