From the LFUCG Division of Government Communications:
With a winter weather advisory in effect for Saturday, the city’s Division of Streets and Roads and Division of Water Quality will move toward round-the-clock operations this weekend.
The advisory is in effect from 1 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, with the forecast calling for accumulations of snow from 1 inch to 4 inches.
Road crews are preparing to apply salt and plow if necessary, said Rob Allen, acting deputy director of Streets and Roads.
“On-call crews will report at midnight Saturday and may be required to report back at 8 p.m. Saturday through Sunday morning, depending on the amount of precipitation and road conditions,” Allen said.
Employees that are not on call will report at 8 a.m. Saturday and may have to report back on Sunday at 8 a.m.
Motorists who need to travel this weekend should be extra careful as there could be ice under the snow in some places, particularly on neighborhood streets.
