Coronavirus/Covid 19 Update

Coronavirus/Covid 19 Update
DEM Blogger
February 28, 2020

As of Sunday, March 8, there is one reported case of the Coronavirus/Covid19 in Kentucky.

The Kentucky Department of Public Health is tracking Coronavirus/Covid 19 activity through its website.

The Fayette County Health Department has some information about the virus and how to keep yourself healthy for the rest of the winter and into the spring.

More information about the virus outbreak is available from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Here are some basic tips for keeping yourself healthy:

  • If you haven’t gotten a flu shot, it’s not too late. Get one today. While a flu shot won’t prevent the coronavirus, it will prevent you from getting the flu.
  • If you have to sneeze or cough, do so into your elbow or a tissue.
  • Wash your hands often.
  • If you’re sick with a cold, cough, fever or virus – STAY HOME!
  • As best as possible, avoid contact with persons who are sick.
