Repeating rounds of strong storms and heavy showers this afternoon along a stalled frontal boundary has resulted in 1-2 inches of rain across central KY today. The Flood Watch issued this morning (#1 on the graphic) will expire at 10 PM ET tonight. A second Flood Watch (#2 on the graphic) has been issued for 7PM ET until tomorrow morning. Additional rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches, with locally higher amounts, are expected in the Flood Watch areas.
Rain and storms are expected to lift north of the region by midnight, but the next round of showers and storms will arrive during the early morning hours. This line of storms will move from west to east, capable of producing damaging winds, as well as an isolated brief tornado. The severe threat will be ending from west to east through the morning hours, and should be clear of our area by early afternoon.
