LEXINGTON, KY. (July 18, 2024) – FEMA’s Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Fayette County will permanently close on Monday, July 22, 2024, at 6 p.m. Monday is the last day for residents to visit the Fayette County DRC for in-person help applying for disaster assistance.
Updated DRC Hours:
- Friday, July 19: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- Saturday-Sunday, July 20-21: Closed
- Monday, July 22: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Those affected by the severe storms on April 2, 2024, can still visit another DRC location in Kentucky for in-person help applying for disaster assistance. The FEMA helpline is available from 7 a.m. to midnight, EDT, seven days a week, at 1-800-621-3362.
The DRC opened on June 6, 2024, to provide FEMA disaster assistance to Fayette County renters and homeowners who were affected by the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, landslides and mudslides that occurred on April 2, 2024. The DRCs provided an in-person option for applicants who preferred to meet directly with a FEMA representative.
