The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a Freeze Warning, which is in effect from midnight EDT /11 PM CDT/ tonight to 10 AM EDT /9 AM CDT/ Thursday. The Freeze Watch is no longer in effect.
Temperatures are expected to range from 28-32 degrees late tonight into early Thursday morning for most of central Kentucky. Freeze conditions will kill sensitive vegetation.
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
A Freeze Warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
