Georgetown Road at New Circle Lane Closure

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways, announces that a temporary lane closure is in effect for the US 25 bridge over the outer loop of New Circle Road/KY 4.

A closure is in place for a portion of the left turn lane over the outer loop of New Circle Road at mile point 16.161 on the US 25 bridge
Note: there is no change for lanes on New Circle Road/KY 4

The closure is necessary due to a tractor trailer carrying equipment that impacted the bridge at approximately 12:00 a.m. (midnight) Wednesday. The impact damaged the beams over the right/slow lane on New Circle Road/KY 4 at mile point 8.372. KYTC personnel inspected the damage and removed the debris from the roadway.

As a public safety precaution, officials decided to temporarily close a portion of the left turn lane on the bridge. Further analysis from the KYTC Central Office Division of Bridges will determine the impact the damaged beams have on the carrying capacity of the structure.
