Winter Weather

Get Ready for Stormy Weather Today and Tomorrow

Get Ready for Stormy Weather Today and Tomorrow
Emily Fay
January 12, 2023

The forecast remains on track for Thursday into Friday, with strong to locally severe storms possible early tomorrow morning into the afternoon and then some lingering snow showers possible late tomorrow night into Friday.

With the strong to severe storms, the main threat will be locally damaging winds along with an isolated tornado/hail threat, mainly in the morning. Rainfall amounts between 0.5 – 1.0 inches are expected across the area, with localized amounts of up to 2 inches possible, mainly across southern IN and north-central KY. Localized nuisance flooding will be possible, but we are not expecting widespread flooding issues.

The scattered snow showers/flurries Thursday night into Friday are not expected to bring much in the way of impacts, with any minor snow accumulations remaining below one inch.
