
Update: 9am, Monday, Dec. 28. The Golden Alert has been canceled. Mr. Rea has been located safely.
The Lexington Police Department has issued a Golden Alert for a missing man. William ‘Bill’ Rea is a 76-year-old white male.
He was last seen on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at approximately 11pm in his black 2013 BMW X5 with KY registration 393RLJ in The Curtilage neighborhood. The vehicle has a broken right tail light.
Mr. Rea was recently diagnosed with minor cognitive impairment which has gotten worse the last couple of weeks. The only known location Mr. Rea frequents is Winchell’s Restaurant on Southland Dr. He is not in possession of his cellular phone and the vehicle does not have any communication devices.
Mr Rea is 6’2”, 188 lbs and was last seen wearing a black turtle neck and khaki pants, eyeglasses, gold watch and wedding ring. Mr. Rea also has poor hearing and does not wear hearing aids.
Anyone with knowledge of Rea’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
