Beginning tonight March 16, Interstate 75 in Rockcastle County will be reduced to one lane beginning at mile point 65.22 and ending at mile point 68.78 as crews begin pavement improvements.
Northbound and southbound lanes will be reduced to one lane between the hours of 6 p.m. to 12 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. For approximately six weeks during the project, lane reductions will increase to a 24-hour period daily beginning at 6 p.m. on Sundays through 12 p.m. on Thursdays.
Speed limits will be reduced from 70 to 55 mph through the work zone and double fines will be in effect.
Work is scheduled to be completed by June 30. The duration of work may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseeable delays. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to allow extra time in reaching their destinations.
