CSEPP, KYEM, and Argonne National Laboratory are hosting a JIS/JIC Operations & Strategy course on May 21-22, 2024. The course will take place at the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) in Frankfort, Kentucky, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Course Description
This two-day interactive workshop prepares participants to build relationships and work alongside government, non-government, private, non-profit, and emergency/disaster aid organizations. The common goal is to communicate with one voice to multiple stakeholders as part of a Joint Information System/Center (JIS/JIC).
Student Criteria
This course is open to all Public Information Officers (PIO) and other individuals within an organization responsible for communicating with the public, press, and media, and/or coordinating with other agencies PIOs and leadership, as necessary, with incident-related information requirements. There are no prerequisites for this course. Any specific pre-course requirements are to be communicated by POCs before the class date. CSEPP community registrants receive registration priority.
Special Notes
Advance student registration is REQUIRED and must be completed by May 17, 2024. A MAXIMUM of thirty (30) students will be accepted. You are considered accepted as a student in this class upon receipt of your application. Letters of acceptance will not be sent. Meals, lodging, and travel expenses are the responsibility of the student and will NOT be reimbursed by KYEM.
