Are you interested in disaster preparedness, first aid, fire suppression, and helping your neighbors during an emergency? If so, Lexington’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) may be for you!
There are still spots available for the Fall 2026 CERT class. Beginning September 3, the class meets every Thursday evening from 6-9 p.m. through October 22. These free classes teach students a variety of skills, including how to put out fires, pack wounds, and use tourniquets.
CERT classes also teach students how to:
- Make your home safer
- Be self-sufficient as a family
- Use two-way radios
- Make an emergency plan
- Be more active in your neighborhood
Requirements
To join, you must be at least 18 years old, live or work in Fayette County, and pass a criminal background check.
