Kentucky Severe Weather Awareness Week 2026

March 1-7, 2026, is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Kentucky. Severe weather can occur at any time of year and bring a range of hazards to the area.

Severe Weather Awareness Week is a reminder to be weather-ready for all types of hazards! These hazards include tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, large hail, lightning, heavy rain, flooding, and high winds.

Kentucky Statewide Tornado Drill 2026

Kentucky’s annual statewide tornado drill will take place on Wednesday, March 4, at 10:07 a.m. EST. The drill is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of severe weather.
