Update at 7:30pm, October 11, 2019
Windstream has reestablished 911 lines into the Public Safety Operations Center and that center is now fully operational. This includes administrative lines to Lexington Police (258-3600) Lexington Fire (231-5600) and 311. Operators are in the process of gradually moving from the Back-up to the Primary Dispatch Center. Additional personnel are on-hand to assist with the transition.
Around 1:23 p.m. today, Lexington E911 noticed that 911 calls and non-emergency calls were not being delivered consistently to the 911 Center inside the Public Safety Operations Center.
Downdetector.com indicates Windstream phone issues in the Lexington area, which may be the source of the issue. 911 centers in other counties on Windstream service are reporting that they are being affected too. Windstream is on-site to help resolve the issue. E911 moved its operators to the back-up 911 center to resume taking calls. The back-up 911 center is on a different telephone circuit.
In Fayette County, calls to 911 are now working normally.
Until Windstream resolves the issue, persons wishing to contact Lexington Police or Lexington Fire for non-emergencies may call 258-3601 or 258-3602.
