Lexington Emergency Management needs your help as we train and prepare for emergencies and disasters. Several times every year, we exercise plans for emergency responses, including providing shelter for those who may need to relocate from their homes in Lexington or other counties. When we exercise, we need people to act as those people who are relocating.
On Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at the Eastland Church of God – 2598 Liberty Road in Lexington – we’ll be practicing our sheltering response along with the American Red Cross, the Fayette County Health Department and Lexington-Fayette Animal Care and Control. The exercise will start at 10 am. You’ll be done no later than 2 pm.
You must be able to provide your own transportation to the church. Lunch will be served around noon. And you’ll get a tote bag with some emergency preparedness items.
