LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government invites residents, business owners and other community stakeholders to review and provide feedback on the draft Lexington-Fayette Urban County Hazard Mitigation Plan.

A public meeting will be held:

Wednesday, September 16, 2026
5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Marksbury Family Branch Library: Community Room A
2197 Versailles Road
Lexington, KY 40504

The project team will provide a brief 10- to 15-minute presentation at 5 p.m. and repeat the presentation at 5:30 p.m. Each presentation will be followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion on the draft plan. Attendees may participate in either session.

The Hazard Mitigation Plan identifies hazards that could affect Lexington-Fayette County, assesses potential risks to residents, property, infrastructure and essential services, and recommends long-term actions to reduce those risks. The draft plan reflects technical analysis, input from the project steering committee and feedback collected from the public during the planning process.

The meeting will also mark the beginning of the public comment period. Community members are encouraged to review the draft plan and provide feedback before it is finalized. Comments may be shared during the meeting or submitted online through the Project Website through September 30th.

The meeting is free and open to the public. Additional information about the Hazard Mitigation Plan is available at https://engagestantec.com/lexington-fayette-hmp.
