LEXINGTON, KY – Lexington’s Division of Emergency Management will conduct the annual Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP) disaster preparedness exercise on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Jacobson Park. The exercise will begin at approximately 8:00 a.m. and conclude by 2:00 p.m. This year’s exercise will simulate an incident involving secondary chemical waste stored at the Blue Grass Army Depot in Richmond, KY.

Media are invited to Jacobson Park at 10:00 a.m. for an opportunity to view the exercise operations. Media are also invited to the Public Safety Operations Center (PSOC) at any time to speak with emergency management officials about the exercise.

Media attending Jacobson Park should look for the Joint Information Center (JIC) Trailer in front of Lakeside Golf Course. Check in with the Public Information Officers(s) on-site upon arrival to coordinate coverage. Media at the PSOC should check in with security in the lobby. An emergency management official will provide an escort to the press room.
