The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Lexington, starting at 5pm and continuing through midnight.
A weather system that is capable of generating multiple rounds of thunderstorms this afternoon through the evening will produce heavy rain resulting in potential flash flooding.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
