Widespread rain is expected to develop near a cold front Wednesday, and the cold front is expected to push through the region Wednesday evening/night. Temperatures will crash from 40s ahead of the front into the 20s by early Thursday morning behind the front. Rain is expected to transition over to snow and/or a wintry mix during the evening and overnight hours.
With temperatures falling quickly behind the front, there is potential for wet roadways to freeze and/or become snow-covered Wednesday night into Thursday morning. While confidence isn’t very high on snowfall amounts, there is some potential to see an inch of snow or more across portions of southern Indiana and central Kentucky by Thursday morning.
