The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for the Lexington area until tomorrow (Wednesday) night.
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Recent heavy rainfall, combined with locally heavy rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches possible through Wednesday evening could lead to Flash Flooding. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
Overall, another 0.5 – 1.5 inches of rain will be possible through tomorrow evening with locally higher amounts of 2 – 3+ inches in areas that see training storms or repeated rounds of heavy rainfall.
