Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Highway (KYTC) District 7 is working to speed up the New Circle Road widening at Leestown Road. However, this will require some short-term ramp closures.
Beginning at 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 9, through 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2025, all four New Circle Road on- and off-ramps at Leestown Road will close.
Detours will be in place, marked by signs and electronic message boards:
- To access Leestown Road from New Circle Road in either direction, drivers should take the Georgetown Road Exit 8 (U.S. 25) to Citation Boulevard to reach Leestown.
- Leestown Road traffic needing access to New Circle Road should follow signs to Citation Boulevard, to Georgetown Road, then exit onto New Circle.
- Traffic on Leestown Road can continue to travel through the interchange to and from downtown Lexington in the far-left lane.
Plan ahead! Leave early and allow for extra time when traveling through this area.
