Dangerous heat and humidity continue to be the primary focus of this week, with multiple heat headlines issued to highlight the hazardous weather conditions for today and tomorrow. With temperatures in the mid to upper 90s and high humidity, heat index values are forecast to exceed 100 degrees during this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon. Additionally, record-breaking temperatures overnight provide little relief from these oppressive conditions.
We have issued an Excessive Heat Warning for today for counties mainly along and west of I-65, and the Heat Advisory continues for counties east of I-65 for today. There is also a Heat Advisory for tomorrow across our entire area. Lastly, an Air Quality Alert is in effect for today for the Louisville Metro and several counties in Indiana.
