This is the first comprehensive guide to urban search. It compares factors of an urban/suburban incident with wilderness search, including preplanning, search management, special investigation considerations, use of resources, and documentation. The student will learn how to: understand your urban environment-residential, retail, business, industrial and/or recreational and develop preplans accordingly. Conduct thorough investigations and interviewing including training search personnel in door-to-door canvassing. Develop an accurate profile of the missing person using new urban specific data from the International Search & Rescue Incident Database (ISRID). Class will begin at 8:00a.m. EDT and end at 5:00p.m. EDT each day.
This Course is sponsored by the Campbell County Office of Emergency Management and the Kentucky Division of Emergency Management.
