A flood warning and winter storm warning are in effect through tomorrow.
Rain, sometimes heavy, continues to fall in Lexington and throughout central Kentucky. Radar is beginning to show a thin line of sleet falling North along the Ohio River.
This line of sleet is expected to expand as temperatures drop. Sleet and freezing rain will begin to fall around 3:30pm in Lexington.
The sleet will continue until approximately 6pm when it will turn to snow. Total snow accumulation is expected to be 8-11 inches.
Winds in excess of 20 mph will create snow drifts. Snow will end sometime Thursday afternoon and temperatures will drop into the single digits and possibly below zero.
Please plan ahead and avoid travel tonight after 6pm.
