The Division of Emergency Management participated in a conference call with the National Weather Service (NWS) at 3:00 PM to discuss the latest forecasts.
A WIND CHILL WARNING is in effect for Lexington beginning at 4:00 today, and lasting until Noon tomorrow. WIND CHILL WARNING means that dangerous cold temps may cause frostbite, hypothermia and death to exposed individuals and animals.
A WIND CHILL ADVISORY will then be in effect from Noon tomorrow (19th) until 7:00 AM on Friday the19th

Morning Wind Chill: -29 degrees
High Temp: 1 degree
FRIDAY
Morning Air Temp: -13 degrees
Morning Wind Chill: -25 degrees
FRIDAY / SATURDAY WEATHER EVENT
Snow will begin Friday evening @6:00PM. Estimated accumulation 1.5-2 inches. Temps will continue to rise overnight with snow turning to rain @10:00 AM on Saturday. During the transition to rain there will be a period of freezing rain / sleet at @day break. Total rain amounts @1.5 inches. High temp Saturday will be 40 degrees at sundown.
