It’s during times like this that some people get a little confused about what is and isn’t an emergency. And who you should and shouldn’t call for information.
If it’s on fire, a serious medical or other emergency, call 9-1-1. Do not call 9-1-1 to ask if schools are closed, if you have to go to work tomorrow, if stores are open, or if you can get a pizza delivered.
For non-emergency public safety calls, please call 859-258-3600.
If you or someone you know is in need of shelter tonight, call 2-1-1.
If you absolutely need road conditions across the state, call 5-1-1 or 1-866-737-3767. But trust us, it’s bad out there tonight, within 100 miles of Lexington. Bad and getting worse. Crews are doing their best, but the snow is coming down at rates in excess of 2″ per hour in some places. Avoid travel tonight.
Tomorrow, you can reach Lexington city offices by calling 3-1-1 or 859-425-2255 after 8:00am.
