The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect until 7 PM EST Sunday night.
Residents should expect sustained west winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts around 40 mph. Expect tree limbs and branches to fall and some weakened trees may be uprooted. Expect some power outages.
A Wind Advisory means that wind gusts of over 40 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult…especially for high profile vehicles on north-south roads. Use extra caution.
The forecast shows clearing and warming through Wednesday.
It will be important to keep track of Kentucky River levels at southern Fayette County. They’re still below flood stage, but are expected to continue to rise.
