Wind and Power Outage SITREP #1

Wind and Power Outage SITREP #1
DEM Blogger
November 24, 2014

DEM is monitoring the ongoing effects of today’s high winds on Fayette County.

Weather

Ongoing wind advisory until 7:00 p.m. tonight.

Traffic

Versailles Road between New Circle and Man O’War is closed due to high-voltage lines down across all lanes (see map). This closure is expected to last until 8:00 p.m. tonight. Only local access is being permitted.

Many traffic signals are out or on flash. Other major corridors affected include the Fayette Mall area, the Blue Grass Airport area and parts of downtown.

Multiple traffic accidents have been reported.

Remember to treat disabled traffic signals as all-way stop signs. Exercise extreme caution.

Power

Approximately 14,000 customers are without power in Fayette County. For details and estimated restoration times, see the outage maps linked below.
