As we advised (we won’t say “promised”) last week, winter isn’t quite done with the Bluegrass. The National Weather Service’s forecast calls for more snow overnight, probably between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am. The models vary but the forecasters’ consensus seems to be between half an inch and two inches, with temperatures dropping into the teens by morning. Lexington isn’t under an advisory, watch, or warning at this time, but the Division of Emergency Management will continue consuming coffee and monitoring the weather as this front moves into the region.
The Division of Streets and Roads advises that daytime crews are already treating local streets with brine. Night crews have been alerted and will report for duty at midnight to begin clearing any accumulation. Sorry, kids – a snow day for tomorrow looks unlikely at this time.
