Winter Storm Watch in Effect

Winter Storm Watch in Effect
DEM Blogger
February 9, 2021

A light mix of snow and freezing drizzle may produce slick spots early this morning, especially on untreated side streets, bridges, and sidewalks. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect.

Significant Sleet and Ice Accumulations are Expected Late Tuesday through Thursday. An upper level weather system is bringing wintry precipitation to the region early this morning. Some freezing rain or freezing drizzle is expected, and may create a light glaze. A secondary winter weather event is expected to begin late Tuesday as a wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain develop across the region. Current forecasts suggest that significant amounts of freezing rain and sleet will be possible across portions of southern Indiana and Central Kentucky. Here’s the hour-by-hour breakdown.
