A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Lexington from 8pm Sunday, Feb. 11 to 7am, Monday Feb 12.
Snow, sleet, and freezing rain expected. The wintry mix will result in slippery conditions on sidewalks, roads and bridges, including during the morning commute on Monday. Total snow and sleet accumulations could reach a half inch, and ice accumulations of 0.05 inches are possible.
While the wintry precipitation will have ended by sunrise Monday morning, some untreated road surfaces could be icy and slick. Motorists are strongly encouraged to slow down and allow plenty of time to reach their destinations.
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, and freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving.
