Updated 2:45pm, Saturday 9/19/2019
A Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect today (Saturday, 1/19) from 4pm to 7am on Sunday.
Rain will change over to snow with moderate snow at times. For Lexington, accumulations of 1 to 4 inches are possible. The rain will turn to snow between 9pm and 11pm. There will be a period of sleet and possible freezing rain as the rain turns to snow.
Wind gusts to 40 MPH will be possible at times.
Road conditions are expected to become extremely hazardous tonight and early Sunday morning due to ice and snow accumulations on the roads.
Temperatures overnight and into tomorrow morning are expected to be in the low teens with wind chill in the single digits and below zero.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
