A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 3 PM EST today through 1 AM EST tonight for southern Indiana and most of central Kentucky.
A storm system will bring accumulating snow to southern Indiana and central Kentucky this afternoon and evening. 1 to 3 inches of snow is expected, with lesser amounts in far southern Kentucky. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 30s early this afternoon, so a brief rain/snow mix is possible at onset. Snow will arrive in southern Indiana around 2 PM EST, reaching the I-65 corridor in the mid afternoon, and the I-75 corridor in the late afternoon.
Temperatures will fall to at or below freezing across the whole area this evening. Impacts to travel appear likely during the evening commute. Slick and snow covered roads are possible. Temperatures will continue to fall into the 20s overnight. It will be cold Thursday morning with wind chills in the teens around sunrise.
