Windy weather and slick roads for Friday

Windy weather and slick roads for Friday
John Bobel
January 27, 2023

Sunny and cool today, but overnight snow has made many roads slick and hazardous. If you’re driving this morning, please slow down and leave extra space between you and other drivers. Many accidents have been reported throughout Fayette County, including on major roads and interstate highways.

Sunshine and temperatures rising above freezing will help road crews to clear the roads this morning.

A wind advisory is in effect for Fayette County today from noon until 7 pm.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down, and a few power outages may result. Southwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph
expected. Isolated higher gusts are possible.

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
